Orb of influence
A planetary line is a mathematical exactness; its lived influence is a gradient. The orb is the working radius astrologers use — commonly a few hundred miles for a major line, with the effect strongest near the line and tapering off.
Lovecartography defaults to the modern consensus (about 600 miles for a major line) and treats the orb honestly: a city 500 miles from your Jupiter line gets a milder read than one sitting on it.
